Let's Play Ball!

We participated in little league this year!  There are several leagues around here and we decided to do the one over the summer (less stressful then during the school year).  Aidan was in T-ball and Lily was in coach pitch.  Sydney was to nervous to sign up because she would be in regular little league and she had never played before... but I really think she will try next year.  They had 2-3 games a week and Lily even had 4 in one week.  Unfortunately, half of their games were at the same time in different locations.  We spent a lot of the time split up.  But it was really fun and we enjoyed having stuff to do in the evenings.

Aidan started off the season with a bang!  He was so excited to hit the ball and catch the ball.

I don't know if Aidan just go bored... but around the middle of the season ( a whole month... lol) he decided he didn't want to get the ball anymore and as it got hotter he decided to sit while he was out on the field...
This eventually led to him laying in the field the whole time!
What a funny kid.  But if you ask him he will tell you he had fun and never once did he complain about going.  Usually, he was really excited.

Lily had a fantastic time!

She was pretty hit and miss when it came to hitting the ball.  In coach pitch they give them one change to hit it off the tee after striking out three times.  She actually only managed to hit it of the tee as much as from the coach.  Like I said she was pretty random.

She was pretty good at getting the ball though.  Next year she can work on understanding the plays and were to throw the ball!  She did such a good job and we were super proud of her.
She always had a smile on her face!  Even when she missed the ball or got tagged out.
The kids practiced a lot at home.  Although most of the time we had a game every night on the occasions we didn't they practiced outside.

While I wished Sydney had played I will admit I was a bit relieved.  I can't image what it would have been like trying to fit more games in!!

It was really nice that we are able to request friends & coaches and stuff like that.
Aidan was able to play on the same team as his cousin Abby along with our friend Addie too.  It was nice to be able to leave him there with them if we had to be at Lily's game.

I didn't put down any special friend requests for Lily but we were really excited and surprised to find her friend Abby on her team.  This worked out great for all of us!  We both had to be somewhere else a few times and it was nice to have someone there.

There is actually one more week but the kids are going to Globe to hand out with their grandparents and go to Vacation Bible School.  Bummed that we'll miss the last 3 games and any parties they might have but it was fun and we can't wait to do it again!
